A Little Creativity Can Make a Gift That Much More Wonderful

Over the past few years, I’ve given my friends some interesting gifts or have packaged gifts in a manner that is far from normal. With Christmas one week away, I figured today would be a good time to look back at gifts given in the past.

Several years ago, I gave to one of my friends the biggest gift I’ve ever given. Well, actually, the packaging is what was so big; the items inside weren’t so big. I had packaged my friend’s gift inside a refrigerator box. To ensure that the gag would go off great, I had to act like I was struggling with getting the package out of my car. I even brought a dolly (or, a “hand truck”, as some people like to call it) to add to the effect of the MASSIVE size and weight of this package. What was inside? A bunch of newspaper and some computer equipment.

Let’s move forward to more recently. Two years ago, I had my own apartment with a tiny tree. Nothing fancy. Nothing spectacular. But the tree was missing something: presents. What’s a person to do? Give yourself presents, of course!

As for last year, the presentation of gift giving was … um… given attention again! You know when you wrap gifts and you have all those little pieces of left over? What do you do? Wrap a gift with them! Duh. The proud recipient of this gift was none other than my brother. I’m sure he was really proud.

Finally, sometimes it’s best to just keep things simple. How about a shoe box? Small. Removable lid. Isn’t all that bad of a package when it comes to giving gifts.

What’s in the box?

But as I said, it’s small? What could you possibly put in a shoe box? A frog? No… Shoes? That would just be silly. What on earth could be in the box??

How about 100 $1 bills! It’s like being on a good ol’ fashion game show! In fact, now that I think about it, I should have given them the box, told them not to open the box until I told them about another offer. That would have been pure evil!! And I would have enjoyed every minute of it. 🙂

So, what does this year bring? I already posted three hints about this year’s gift (or gifts?). What could it possibly mean? I guess we’ll find out in a week. Merry Christmas, everyone!
