A bit of a personal announcement

I’ve been holding back on this until I was sure all details were worked out. That has happened so I can finally announce that start in late October, I will be spending nearly three months in Canada.

This all started a while back when David Oxford, freelance writer and owner of the Nyteworks Networks of sites, wanted to put on a live streamed charity marathon. I had offered suggestions and help to questions he had when it occurred to me that a LOT of this would be easier if I were there to help him out. So with a little assistance from my parents, I will be going up to Canada to assist putting on this event for him.

But that was just the beginning.

I figured while I was in Canada, I would also visit my friend Jackie. Can’t miss out on a chance to do that, right? So I told her the news: I’d be spending a couple weeks in Canada to help David out with his live stream and would like to take a week to hang out with her as well. She was very excited to hear the news. I would be staying at her parents’ house, so she told her parents the news too. And with that, I had a place to stay too.

Later into our conversations, I was discussing with Jackie how it would be cool if I could stay a little longer so we’d have more time to hang out. (Jackie has a regular job so I wouldn’t be able to see her as often. I would also be using this time to search for work while up there.) So after some back and forth, it was decided I would stay until early December.

And with that, my plans were set! Almost. After that discussion with Jackie, David had mentioned that a wrastlin’ event would be swinging through town in late December and thought it would be fun to go to that (if everyone has enough money, of course). So, once again, after some back and forth and more talking, it was decided that I would stay in Canada until early January.

Considering how this is going, I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever come back to the States. It seems the end of my trip keeps getting further and further out. And then there’s the possibility of me getting a job while up there. That will really change things.

Needless to say, I’m really excited to do this. At the same time, I’m really exhausted trying to wrap out as many loose ends down here before I go. With only a few weeks left until the trip, I have a LOT to do. But it will all be very much worth it.
