Dream: Flimsy Structure

My parents were either visiting or helping me move into an apartment. As my dad and I took an elevator up to my floor, the elevator struggled to move up. We eventually got to my floor, just very slowly.

I would later take the elevator myself but it somehow overshoots my floor and falls out from the top? Somehow I’m not hurt, but I make note to tell the complex manager about the malfunction.

I exit my apartment to get something from the parking garage. The parking garage is weirdly laid out. For example, there isn’t an entrance to or exit from the stairwell on the first floor. You have to go to the basement level or 2nd floor and then walk around the garage to get to the first floor.

While walking in the garage, I notice off in the distance a tornado. It seems very close, not giving me time to head back to my apartment (which is on the 4th floor). So I head down to the basement level (which is only partially underground) to find a safe spot. A few other residents also hide down there.

I keep my head down and covered as the tornado nears. After it passes through, the whole parking structure (including cars) are gone and somehow nobody is hurt. Also, there’s no structural damage to the apartments themselves and everyone is okay.

Since the parking garage connected to the apartments, getting up to the various floors was impossible since there are no longer any stairs. We try making ladders with what we could find laying around.

Since the tornado also knocked out power, communicating with the outside world wasn’t possible either. Yet I just so happen to have a hotspot on me what worked fine. So we were able to connect a laptop to the Internet to get information out and see what else is happening.

My mom complains about the flimsy structure and bad design of the parking garage. She starts drawing up new designs to present to the complex managers.

And that’s all I remember from this dream.
