Another Fun Customer Service Experience, courtesy of Amazon

Having been doing customer service for the past several months, seeing bullshit like this makes me sick. Thanks, Amazon.

UPDATE: I probably should have just called Amazon support on the phone. After explaining everything that happened, they sent the two available items free of charge (so I wouldn’t have to buy them again) and with expedited shipping. The item that wasn’t available, I had to buy again because it was different from the original item (new compared to refurbished). The rep then updated the order to have expedited shipping as well. I will be refunded everything else when they received the returned order.

I hope I don’t have issues with getting that refund…

I ordered some items from Amazon that I’ll need once I move. They were third-party sellers by all items were “Fulfilled by Amazon”. So I knew there wouldn’t be trouble getting it from their warehouses. Or so I thought.

Items were suppose to be delivered Saturday. Nothing showed up. I check the delivery status and noticed there’s a error. Supposedly, USPS couldn’t deliver the package because “Incorrect address”. I check the order left and right and the address is 100% correct. I even put the address into Google Maps to be sure. No errors. (Ironically, I was at the post office when this issue occurred. Wish I had delivery notifications enabled.)

So I contact Amazon Chat Support to get it corrected. The rep claims “ I have contacted with the carrier and informed them that the order is correct they will deliver the item tomorrow.” After telling the rep I’ll stick around, the rep states “It will be delivered by tomorrow for sure.”

As you can guess, it wasn’t.

Don’t say “for sure” even if you’re a fraction unsure.

I contact Amazon Chat Support again today to explain the situation. They tell me the rep from the day before provided me the incorrect information. (You don’t say.) They offered to upgrade my shipping method if I order the items again. Fine. I tell the rep let’s do this now (because I’m not about to come back to a different rep and probably be told something different again).

So I try adding the items to my cart but one of the items I want is no longer available. First I thought the price had just gone up which the rep first offered to send me a Amazon Certificate for the difference. But once I noticed the one I bought was refurbished, suddenly that offer was off the table as it was considered a different item. The rep just says I have to buy it used or new. I asked if they would help if I buy it new and they said no. I told the rep I wouldn’t buy it used because at least with refurb, I had the guarantee it was reviewed, repaired, and like new. I don’t get that same guarantee buying used. The rep then says “ok have a great day” and disconnects the chat.

An example of quality customer service. If I’m wrong, at least tell me WHY I’m wrong.

What kind of horseshit is this!? That’s how you respond to make the customer happy!? I already was mad because they told me to make sure I use the correct address when ordering even though I already told the rep I DID make sure I used the correct address, only making me more mad.

Get your shit together, Amazon. You’re not making me any happier. So now I have to call them on the phone and get this all sorted out. STILL. This shouldn’t be that hard.
